You are well on your way. I would suggest you open the aperature up as much as you can so as to separate your subject from others. Also bend your knees, especially on the hurdles and long jump. Sitting on the ground will give a perspective that most observers do not get to see. Be careful of subject underexposure because you will be getting more bright sky.
Couldn't get lower since was banned to the area outside of the track. Only those with media credentials were allowed in the infield, nobody was in the infield area! They want a huge fee to get those credentials. That is the best I could do with a fence and fans in the way!
I'm no expert, buy I think your photos are wonderful! You might try using a larger aperture to isolate your main subject. Makes the photos quite interesting. But your photos are very nice.
