Anyone had experience with or comments about this lens? This is a manual focus AI lens from probably the 70's in mint condition.

I tried the lens out briefly and was impressed with the sharpness and focusing did not seem to be an issue.
Every shot I took with this lens was in focus using the green focus dot.

Thanks in advance for any comments, they are always appreciated

You seem to have established this as a good lens for you to use.

I have read about the AI Nikon lenses. I believe there was an AI-s too. I don't own any of those older manual lenses. If you like it, that's all that matters. Enjoy it.

Sigma has consistently manufactured good optics. In the early 70's I was reluctant to buy a Sigma lens because when I was using film I could see a change of colors in my images when compared to my Nikon lenses. That belongs to the past. Modern Sigma lenses are exceptional in quality and sharpness from all I have seen.
You used the lens and you found it appropriate for you work. Do we need to say more?

This lens has very good reviews - not absolute top of the line - but very close to it. Also, has a great hood !

When Focus correctly the images are very sharp. Manual focus is not a problem I don't do anything that requires a fast focus. But I will say this lens, from the seventies, is built better than lens today. I don't see any plastic on the lens except the hood. All metal, glass and dampen like a precision instrument. I think I got extremely lucky to pick it up for fifty bucks as it doesn't look like it's ever been used.
