I live in Toronto which used to have a big Kodak complex near me. Kodak closed down in 2005, leaving the most recognizable of the buildings standing but empty. We have lost many historic buildings in our city over the years due to the lack of interest on the part of non-caring officials. I'm pleases to say that the Kodak building will live on thanks to some community-minded people. They have managed to lift the 3,000 tonne building and move it 60 meters away where it will become part of our new Metrolink transport system. The first two floors will become light rail transit stations. It's so great to know that some people have seen the merit in preserving historical buildings that matter to those who live here. Traditionally, our subway stations are highlighted with art. Let's hope this station is highlighted with great photographs.
Sound like a worthy goal, DebAnn
Wow love see picture of it. An them moving it.
They have tore down several iconic buildings here. One I hated to see go was the camolet hotel. Had many gargoyles on it
I'll have to look that up.
Glad they are re-purposing it!

Good for them, sounds like a worthwhile project!!
I hope it doesn't give the metro link a negative reputation! 😎
