Flora Hall, Lexington Ky, Round Barn

Something special about round barns.

Floral Hall is a building designed by John McMurtry in Lexington, Kentucky. It is notable for its architecture and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977.

Located just immediately prior to the Red Mile Race Track. On a personal note, harness ponies' season starts soon. Great opportunity for action shots. See ya there?

Great photos and the backstory about it really helps to put everything in context and make the images more meaningful.

We have an octagonal barn in San Luis Obispo CA. No where near as elegant as the Floral Hall and not as large but it is one of the few remaining from those days. It is registered in the Library of Congress, here's a link: http://www.loc.gov/pictures/item/CA2537/
