I just installed the Windows 10 Anniversary update on my Windows 10 system.

Lightroom and Photoshop still work perfectly, none of my photos have been deleted, none of my edits were undone, all of my plugins still work.

DxO Optics Pro 11 still works, nothing is missing from there.

Nothing has been moved to a secret location, no files are refusing to open, Armageddon has not been launched.

Yes, I was put off for a long time up grading from W-7. I backed up (full clone) and then up graded.... hay worked fine... great.

I had purchased W-8 to upgrade a long time ago.... after taking forever to upgrade.... it said sorry and reverted to W-7 waste of a good $100... mounted on the wall with my Vista and ME windows disks.... in my view both were scams; Microsoft owed us W-10 at no charge.

I agree with you I have been using Win10 since day one on all my PC's (5) and my wife'e 2 PC's there hasn't been a single problem.
On the latest update which I have been using today and I have only noticed one difference, when the start icon is left clicked there are 4 buttons to click on, shutdown/restart, setting, file explorer and your MS account.
Some other function have moved to the top left corner eg, Expand, Pinned Tiles and All Apps.
I quite expect to discover changes more as I continue to play around with the latest update.

I believe the button options on Start are somewhat determined by the version of Win 10 installed. Just my intuition.

Thanks. I guess Armageddon will have to wait.

Isn't it amazing that they can send out an update that doesn't destroy everything you have. If I lived under that level of fear that something was going to go wrong with every update I would never own a computer.

I don't fear Windows 10, I strongly dislike having to hunt for things that were only a click away in Vista and Window 7. Windows 10 is loaded with obnoxious junk that getting rid of affects other programs. I spend much more time trying to get to programs that were simple to utilize on startup in previous versions. Improved by Microsoft? Maybe to a computer geek but not to this aging computer user. I am seriously thinking of deleting Win 10 and paying for Widows 7 to replace this monstrosity on my new computers. I have not heard all that much good about Windows 8 so will go with a previous OS.

I received an email from Brother about my printer and the Win 10 update. The email read:
"This notice is for customers using Win10 OS.
The next major update to Windows 10 is scheduled to be released on August 2nd, 2016.
After your Windows 10 PC has been updated you may no longer be able to print or scan using the USB and Network connections. To resolve this issue, you will need to uninstall the existing Brother software and then reinstall it."

My printer worked OK yesterday, no problems. However, it looks like the update was applied last night when I shut the computer off. I will have to see what happens today when I fire up the desktop.
The email went on to tell how to uninstall and reinstall the software.

I don't know what you are doing but my Windows desktop looks identical to my Win 7 desktop. If you want to make things a little easier to find just move your shortcut icons of your most used programs to the bottom taskbar. Quick and easy.

"Anniversary Update" of Win10 (aka Redstone1) apparently works well (seamlessly) for many, BUT a *significant* number of folk running the Home version of Win10 (myself included) are encountering error code 0x0070057 and other codes which =unsuccessful install, and for which MS has issued no quick fix through the "Update Installer" interface. One workaround appears to be using the "Create Media" utility and doing a clean install- BUT I believe this requires a product key- which many of us don't have since we got our *electronic* key through the free update from Win 7 or 8.1 - which *ended* July 29. Rather than doing registry hacks, which is another "geek-recommended workaround," I plan on waiting for MS to address this problem through the Update interface. Might be a long wait knowing MS- (that's why I run Apple predominately for last 5+ years) Any other Hoggers' systems come to a halt during install of this 1-yr anniversary update?

On the other hand, you are a sample, size=1. Still might be good to wait a little while and see what others experience.

Try installing the program Classic Shell. It permits you to set up W10 to look and act very similarly to W7.

For all of you Windows/Microsoft haters please just switch to Apple. Maybe the you will be happy but please do something and stop bitchin' about it and do something about it. I for one have had very few problems since Windows 3.1. Don't like Windows then switch, simple.

One of my computers did not install the update yet. Except for the message that said it didn't install, I never would have known.

For those who are having trouble locating programs, as you find your most used ones drag a shortcut to the task bar, then set the task bar to auto hide. It gives you a clean desktop and your programs are always right there.
