Help please with Epson V550 Scans

If you use an Epson V550 Scanner, can you help me with settings. I did a whole bunch of scans a few years ago but now I'm confused. I want to scan 35mm color film negatives. I want to be able to print somewhere in the neighborhood of 8x10 (or is it 8x12) at 300 dpi. If someone could please take a screen cap of the appropriate Epson Scan settings box with the right info entered, that would be most helpful.

I use a EPSON V550 however I use Paperport as an interface with diff. outlets usually with pics go to photo software eg one of Adobe's programs & print thru them.

Sorry RSORD, you're talking over my head. I need someone to explain exactly how to get a good scan. I know how to deal with the image once there is one. I use LightRoom and Photoshop. Often Paintshop Pro. But first I need a digital image.
