I think I found my calling photography wise.. MACRO.. what do ya think?
Reverse mounted lense at 18MM, Manually held open aperature open halfway, iso 100 , 6inch tripod used, , remote shutter release about 8 sec
I think maybe a lttle scary but a nice picture. As to your "calling" - I cannot disagree, go with your heart. I take very few of this ilk but here is a recent one, and yes I like yours better.
Thanks,,, I love shooting praying mantises.. I will post a few Mantises that I was able to capture while I was serving over in Iraq,,, they are very exotic
HEre are some mantises from Iraq while I was there... Keep in mind this was a year and a half ago when I just got my Nikon d3000 and had no idea what I was doing,, I used the automatic closeup setting back then.. boy have i learned so much since then.
Hey there! New to this thread. Like your image. I have a few spider images that have been slightly enhanced. He are a few of mine. What do you think?
@ Photo Steve......I really like the 2nd one in the natural setting,,I like insects in the natural setting, which is very hard to achieve as they rarely ever sit still long enough to get that close up, very good shot,, the other two IMO are a little distracting with all the color ... the third one is still interesting though and has a certain artistic feel to it,, nice job over all..
love the praying mantises. those are so cool and who knew that they could be neater with many colors. as for the spiders, i feel them crawling everywhere lol Good pics everyone
Very nice shot. However, do you realize that this spider is a brown recluse or some call it the fiddle back due to the design on the back. This is a highly venomous spider. Be extremely careful around these guys.

OMG you are correct,, You would think being in the army Id have known this.. Wierd thing is I did not change the hue of this spider he was a deep deep reddish brown and when and the flash hit it it came out blood red like this. anther thing it was fairly large, about the size of a golf ball and the only other one I had ever saw which had bit a friend in South carolina was the size of a penny and cream in color. Thank you for pointing this out,,
Thank you. I agree w/ you about the color being to much now that you mention it for those. Let me have your opinion on a few more.(although these are obviously not spiders)
Man ... when your'e hot your'e hot ... great ones.
The abstrct one's are the best of the best, good show.
Bravo to you.
Ya'll be careful of spiders with a violin on their backs it could be a brown recluse. Not a good spider the wounds become large ulcers and hard to cure.
Check out this site for more info.
http://brown-recluse.com/ There are a few more that can cause problems but the brown recluse is most common. in the US.
