Projections are typically not straight line. You need to distinguish between the global (no pun intended) pattern versus intermediate swings in the other direction. Similar to the stock market, a bull pattern includes frequent corrections. There's no insult here if you understand the longer term evidence.

Elliott, if one compares the number of pirates over the years, there is a correlation showing that as the number of pirates has diminished, the global temperatures have risen.

And nobody actually does.
That's the problem with these climate studies. We have a blip on the radar and we are making all kinds of pronouncements about the future based on a blip on the radar.
