This is my daughters rec league. I am using my new Sony a65 DSLR. I shot these through the fence but I still am getting so blur of the fence in the picture. Also when I set my camera on manual my camera takes the picture and then shows "please wait processing picture" and it takes forever! Does anyone know why this happens when I manually set this camera? I can set it to continuous mode and manually focus but most of the time I get a blur of the bat or ball and I am looking for more of a clearer image of what is in motion. Her first travel league tournament is coming up in two weeks so I am trying to get it straight before then. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

three of mine, as for Sony, I haven't got the foggiest idea on the settings. I was wondering what lens you were using.

Auti got dirty!

LOVE the dust in your sliding picture! I also love the colors and action in all the pictures. The lens I am using is my Sony 75-300 mm F4.5-5.6. I want a better lens and know that it would help but the lenses are more expensive than the camera! I priced some between $90.00 to $1500.00! What do you think?

I hate to sound like a broken record but see if anyone has a rental Sony lens. I use my 70-200mmf2.8 for almost all sports and love it. Someone has to rent Sony equipment.

I can't think of who would rent lenses. I don't know of any local photography stores. There is Best Buy and larger retailers. I will research the local stores to see if anyone has an idea about rentals. The lens you have is the one I have been looking at. Thanks once again!

I sent a link in my last message about a company that rents Sony equipment. I'd stay away from Best Buy, they would try to sell you one of their lens that are over priced and not what you need. Don't trust best buy for anything.

Thanks for that advice! I am definitely going to rent one first to see if it is what I need/want.

Once you try a 70-200mmf2.8, you will save up for one. I did! Some track photos from tonight!

I just looked and it will cost $246.00 for a four week rental on the Sony 70-200mm 2.8 lens. Sounds good considering the lens itself is $1999.99. I also have looked at the Tamron and Sigma equivalent and they run $789.00 and $1359.00. We also have a Sony outlet here and I may check that out. Thanks again for the idea and link!

I love the look on the girl in # 2! That was a great catch! The girls on the the teams always tell me they love the great action shots but the best pictures to them are the ones that catch all the crazy faces! And again I love the colors in your pictures, they are so brilliant and sharp! Well time for me to start saving!

I do collage posters for one of my teams and one of the posters is the all face team. Coaches, players and parents are included. Everybody laughs their butts off at this poster and we vote on who has the funnest face and they win the poster!

I have always been told the Canon F2.8 is the best for Canons but the latest reviews of the Sigma 70-200mmf2.8 has been getting great reviews on the board, you may want to look into it. Have fun!

I like the collage idea. At the end of the season I make a DVD with all the pictures I have taken of the team and families and put them to music and add titles, quotes and other misc. notations. I do this for her travel team, rec. team and the other three travel teams. (We have my daughters team 12 U Team A and then there is Team B 12 U and Teams A and B 10 U0. Then I make another shorter one for my son's T Ball team. The kids and the parents/fans love it. I love doing it for them and it is like a stress relief for me (two jobs and lots of kids, LOL). But your idea sounds like fun!
