New to this forum. Would like to get advice regarding resources to get up to speed on HDR photography.
Thanks in advance.
Floyd
Welcome to the Hog.
As GoofyNewfie mentioned, tuning into the HDR section here is a great way to start getting advice and hints on the HDR process.
Something else you may also want to try is to click on the Search menu at the top of this page and type HDR in the search box. While this maybe (probably) won't answer all your questions on HDR, it will give you a bit of insight on the process as well as the views of other members on HDR.
There are some pretty good books available on the subject, some of which are:
HDR Photography by Peter Carr
The HDR Book by Raphael Concepcion.
HDR Photography Secrets for Digital Photographers by Rick Sammon
Other things you will want to look into is software. Photoshop and Lightroom both have HDR functions built into them as well as a little-known program known as Zoner Photo Studio. Photomatix is probably the best known stand-alone HDR software package, but there are other ones such as NIK's HDR Efex.
thx PicDu, wil give that a try
Appreciate the advice. Enjoy reading the opinions of quality photographers and enthusiasts.
I am getting up to speed on LR5. Did not know that LR had the HDR functions. Have been doing a bit of research and found reference to Photomatix as stated by Pic-a-dude
GNew, appreciate the response
Oh my, just read your location. What a change Newfie -> KC. How traumatic was that?

Military brat- we moved every 2-3 years so it was pretty much normal. Three years in Madrid, Philippines twice and a few places in the US. Only been back to Newfoundland once since, but want to visit again for sure.
GN, wife and I intend to visit Iceland in two years if the volcano does not blow up the island. Heard the place has much to photograph.
Don't. It's not 1998 anymore.
"Secrets to Mastering HDR Photography" by Captain Kimo. Look it up in the Internet through a Google search.
It will put you to roll in a blink.
