Nikon TC-20E III Lens

I just purchased a slightly used converter from KEH. It seems to work great, however when I hold the lens in my hand and rotate my wrist I hear a slight clicking sound. It is kind of like rotating a spray paint can and hearing the small ball inside of the can. Is this a normal sound? I've never owned one of these before.

I think it normal for them to have a rattling noise.

I have all the Nikon TC's and they all sound the same, as if something is loose...I'll go along with your analogy "the ball in a spray can" and in actuality as DaveO said "aperture coupling lever"
