Lynda's my name and shooting is my game, you can find me most anywhere with a camera in my hands. I was recently turned on to macros quite by mistake and want to learn lots more. I look at every oppurtunity as a photo opt. Hoping to learn lots here and to share as well.

A humming bird landed in my hand
Welcome, I am a new member too. This site seems to have a lot of good information. I live in OK now, But formerly MA and have spent lots of time in beautiful Vermont. There is nothing like a New England fall for picture taking. Looking forward to seeing some of your photos.
What an unusual opportunity to have a huming bird land in your hand! They are so tiny. Keep taking pictures. Thanks for sharing.
There are some really outstanding macro on here and lots of good advice. I come up short in both areas. I have attached one that at best is only so-so. Welcome to you both.
Thanks that is beautiful I'll post mine of a grasshopper later
Hello Lynda and Melissa!
Welcome to the forum. It's nice to have you here.
Here are a couple my grandaughter took. Her first time with this camera. It is a Nikon D60 with an 18-55mm VR lens at 55mm f 5.6
THAT is an awesome grasshopper shot in the leaves ! Keep 'em coming ! BTW, check all your photos for "Macro" opportunities - check out what I found in a flower shot !
