Hello. My Dad is approaching 80 years old and tends to get overwhelmed by a lot of complicated photo editing software. I am looking for a free or under $50 download for an SIMPLE editing software that would be easy for him to learn and use. Something where he could just crop, adjust exposure, easy stuff. If there's too much on the screen he will get overwhelmed. We've been looking for awhile and everything seems too complicated for him.

Take a look at this one. I don't know if exactly same as the version I have on my Chromebook, but there are some quick and easy editing tools:

The one with Google Photos might be all he needs. It is extremely easy but does a good job.

I use Fastone for simple adjustments. It is free and very powerful and will also do RAW. Right click any image and select choice. Works well for me.

I'm an Apple user so this may be of zero interest. The I photo, now Photo program has free editing. I have not used but Google has developed free software to replace Picasa, again Free.

Laura, Snapseed, now a Google product, is simple and direct. Makes minor adjustments and does cropping. Check it out at www.Snapseed.com. It is designed for mobile users - for phones and tablets.

I'm 76 and easily confused; just ask anybody on the forum. I use Faststone image viewer and don't have any trouble with it.

I am 88 years old and I have unsuccessfully tried to learn Photoshop several times. Thank you for asking the question and lay responses you received

When I upgraded my son's computer to Win10, Adobe Photoshop Express was sitting on the Desktop. It's free and seems to be simple.

I just downloaded it and played around with it, and it seems easy enough to use. Of course your father would need some basic instruction.

Adobe PSElements 14 has beginner, intermediate and expert levels. The beginner level does everything automatically. A free one is
FastStone or both Windows 7, 8.1 and 10 have free (easy to use/built in) programs.
