Thanks for the comments gents. Dunno about the seasonal effects but I think that they light up at night which may result in an interesting shot.

The question as to what shadows they cast as the sun nears Meridian comes to mind...

Good question. Wonder if the sun's angle would shine into 8th Ave canyon and if it did, what technical wizardry would be required to get exposure balance.
