Don't know yet and I haven't looked to determine what the update consists of. Perhaps John F has a point?
Given that I got my problem solved, perhaps everyone has delisted this Topic. But I just did Google searches as to what the Firmware Updates for the a6000 have been. I haven't quite discovered what they they all have been for since version 1.0, but here are some of the major reasons: improving the format used for video-recording; facilitating better use of the new G-master Sony lenses; shortening the camera's start-up time; and decreasing the degree of "hunting" by certain autofocus lenses.

That's all, ffolks!

WALL, I suggest you LEARN to use the "Quote Reply" soft key, so that people know whom you're addressing. You'll find communication with others on a Topic will be easier. 😀

FWIW:

Quite some time ago, frustrated by my a6000's slow start-up time, I ventured the 2.0 firmware update (on an ancient HP PC with Windows Vista) and was somehow successful. The improvement in start-up on my camera was significant, but I saw/see no other really noticeable improvements. Also updated my lenses (if the option was available). I see nothing attractive about the 3.10 firmware update that would cause me to roll the dice again.

Same thing happened to me I bought an 6000 at Costco tried to update it and turned it into a brick. I returned it to Costco and got another one. I refuse to try to update and I am leaving it the way it is. If I wanted to do it I would send it to sonyand let them update it

Agreed. I have two commandments when it comes to buying cameras. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. In other words, do no updates. I also refuse to buy a new model when it first comes out. By waiting, one is more likely to get a camera with the bugs worked out and the latest firmware installed at the factory. Moreover, with its replacement on the horizon, if not already on the market, a better deal is more likely

Sir, if you really mean what you wrote, I find your stance on not ever doing any Firmware Updates to be both dogmatic and silly. You could benefit from some updates of electronic devices, otherwise there would be no incentive for the manufacturer to offer. Granted, a description of an Update should be provided in advance to determine if it would be of particular benefit to the manner in which one uses the device. Also, the Manufacturer should not gather the reputation of distributing Firmware Updates that frequently result in turning a device into a brick. 🤔😀
