Been following along for a few months now and decided I would join in. I've loved photography most of my life but never thought I would get into it as a hobby. Well, I took a class at the local technical college, bought a "big girl" camera, Canon 50D and now I just can't seem to get enough of it! My "real" job really gets in the way :-D

Welcome - glad to see you are sharing. To me this is the best part - seeing how others see and record the world. Do you use a photo editing program? In photo #1 too much blue showed up. Guessing maybe your white balence was not set for outside or you had a polarizing filter on when not needed. I like your framing and selection of subjects - variety is nice. I'm going with #3 as my favorite - great colors and focus. Oh, by the way if anyone - including I, gives you a review on your pictures that is not appreciated you just ignore. Please keep sharing.

I totally agree about the blue on #1....that's what happens when you stumble out of bed to try and get a quick shot of good moody clouds! Thanks for your feedback I really appreciate it!

Hello Tinker64 and welcome to the forum.

Your comments about getting hooked on photography and your job getting in the way make me smile. Yes, it can get to you. The more photos you take the more you want to take until that's all you want to do. It's bad. :-D

I agree with notnoBuddha about photo number 1. There is too much blue. You should be able to take care of that with a photo editing program such as Photoshop or Aperture. Even iPhoto, if you have it, will fix that.

Photo number 3 is beautiful. Love it. Keep up the good work.

The top picture in addition to the blue looks like there may be more to the right of the picture that would add more than the fence on the left. Now that you have a digital you can shift your angle and possibly get a better photo. Remember left, right, down, and up are also angles. You can simply hit the delete button on the photos that you do not like.

The colors on the second photo also seem to be off for me. Maybe because of the white balance.

The sunset photo is really a great photo. Keep shooting is the best advice that anyone can tell you, I usually throw out over 80% of my photos.
