Saw this on the BBC news yesterday. I've read "for" and "against" arguments on here about the use of drones but this must take the biscuit for irresponsibility.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-36069002That's awful. I doubt the investigation will produce any results.
Is "Take the biscuit" an expression there? Here, we would say, "Takes the cake."

Means the same jerry, the UK version.
Doubt they will find anything either. There wont be much left of the drone if they ever find it. Needle in a haystack.
How long until people attach explosives to the drones?
What do you think?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e_EHQM7YgkQWe've got to be the dumbest turds on the planet to let this go fourth. The licensing is almost as funny as the FCC requirements in the 70's to regulate CB radios.

An investigator said today:-
If you buy a drone from a shop, all the rules & regulations are read out to you. Buy one on line and just go out and fly the damn thing.
There is no licensing involved.

I don't know who the "investigator" is,but here are the FAA guidelines. Like it matters....
http://www.faa.gov/uas/faq/
The illegal flying of drones is no differnt from the illegal flashing of lasers in into the cockpit, or allowing animals onto the runway, or shooting at a passing plane, or carrying a bomb onto a plane, or a boxcutter, or any other illegal activity you can think of. There is no reason to fly one near an airfield, and a plane is well out of the ceiling for these things while still in the airport grounds.. unless someone is actively trying to get it to run into the jet. Or don't care about the $1G-$17G' s they have invested in it. Even so, a plane can fly on one engine. Someone mentioned the birds bringing the plane that crashed into the Hudson river... BOTH engines were compromised.
So birds present a worse danger then a drone- wring your hands over that. However, prosecute anyone flying near a airport like the terrorist they are.
They are very easy to jam, in fact loss of signal or interference really screws them up. Of all the dangers posed by people to airplanes, this one will be minor, as all the others have proven themselves to be very deadly.

I'm a responsible drone flyer and a comment like that should not be made on any public forum. It only gives some fool who didn't even have an idea for destruction a way to do it. If you go to any of our drone forum's we don't even make mention of such things. I know it ws just a passing thought but law enforcement would love any reason to take our drones and or fine us or imprison us.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-36069002I saw it on the news. Immediately jumped to "DRONE" in the headlines. Further in the story it switched to "suspected". They don't know and are just jumping on the popular thing. I think it's hogwash.

In regards to registering them, it doesn''t matter where you bought it, you still have to register it. It's that type of thing that makes it hard on all of us.
Drones...
Total insanity. As posted here, how long before some maniac attaches explosives to a drone and brings down an aircraft with hundreds of passengers? They all should be banned immediately with emergency legislation providing for the severest penalties for any bug wit who flies one.

But it's okay to use cars, boats, and children. I guess they should be banned also. Not a very intelligent statement to make.
