Did you know if you are 65 or older you can buy a 50.00 lifetime pass good for admittance to any/all the national parks across the US?

actually, it used to be $10.00 and you only needed to be 62. have they changed that, part of Obamacare maybe?

No, it's still 62 and $10. Not related to the Affordable Care Act. But you knew that.

If you want to get political, however, you can consider the new NPS regulations on photography and permits. There's a nice new hassle/expense to deal with.

I've had mine for many years. It may be the best deal I ever had. However there are a couple of National Parks that are exempted - I'm thinking of Isle Royal at the moment. It's still a beautiful place, and well worth the price of admission.
Incidentally, the pass includes other occupants of the same auto as the pass holder in at least a few places - I don't know if it's universal. It also conveys discounts in some park visitor center stores.

The best deal I have ever had, bar none, is the $10 free lifetime pass to our National Parks.

And (I believe) a complete ban on any kind of drone photography.

The ban on drones in National Parks came about for good reason.
Some irresponsible dipship crashed one into Grand Prismatic Springs in Yellowstone N.P.

When did it change? I paid $10 within the last couple of years.

It's free if you are disabled. I sent my application in about a month ago and still have not heard back from them. They did charge a $10 processing fee and I have not seen the check clear. I'm going to Death Valley tomorrow and if there's a NP office near where we are going, I'll just get my pass in person. Or, next year I'll get one for $10 I'll be 62.

Not only National Parks, but National Wildlife Refuges, National Seashores and National Monuments. So it is even a better deal for seniors. Have saved hundreds of $ over the last 10 years.
