This old German resort hotel on Lake Badersee was expanded in the 1930s during the Nazi years. I guess the owner was reluctant to tear down the original charming structure, but the new architect refused to imitate that style in the expansion. Talk about conflicting designs!! The U.S. Army confiscated it for use as a furlough destination. I was one of the GI guests in 1946, a year after the Nazi surrender.
