I presently use a SanDisk Extreme Pro 32gb class 10 95MB/s sd card and have had no problems with it, but I am always curious if I am using the best that is available for my equipment. Any suggestions or recommendations and why, in your opinion, should I consider a change?

Lexar PRO SDXC II if cost not an issue. They're rated at 150 MB/s. With faster I/O you get full burst and faster recovery from buffering; fewer missed shots, depending on what you are shooting...

The SanDisk's are good cards, just not as fast as the Lexar.

Here is a link to a good site that covers this exact component: http://www.cameramemoryspeed.com/nikon-d7200/sd-card-comparison/

They have tested many, many cards in various camera bodies. I use a couple of Lexar 32gb, 2000x that is rated to 300mb per second. Never a glitch and the download speeds on USB 3.0 is fast.

No you don't. The D7200 is only capable of writing at less than 60 MB/s. Anything faster is a waste because the camera can't unload as fast as the card can take it anyway. The D750 is only slightly faster averaging around 65 MB/s. So as long as your card is a quality brand and capable of 65 MB/s or better, you're good to go.

No worries and my Bad I looked at the wrong camera when I was looking for the 750. The 750 averages around 75 MB/s so a little faster than I initially said. Still under the Class 10 lower end of 95 MB/s.

Still a faster card is not a bad idea, if you plug into your computer photos will transfer faster. Larger cards normally have better write speed too, so you get speed as a bonus if you buy 32, or 64 GIG HD cards sometimes. It is possible firmware upgrades can change things. Ya never know!

Snipped images from the cameramemoryspeed website. The camera body does become the bottle neck with faster cards. But, when uploading to your computer, the faster cards earn their keep.

What surprises me most about the charts posted on that site is the significantly huge variation in price, and that perhaps more expensive does not necessarily mean superior when it comes to SD cards.

If your shooting mostly stills and not videos anything over a medium speed card (90mb) is just a waste of money. Brand name doesn't really!

I have been using PNY Elite Performance in my D7100 and D810 for a few years with no problems. These SD cards are temperature proof, shock proof, magnet proof and water proof according to the manufacturer. Mine are rated at 95MB/s. PNY isn't on the recommended list so use your own judgement.

Also, the speed rating on SD cards is the max read speed. The write speed will be somewhat slower.

I use the Sandisk card mentioned here with my d7200 and it works well.
