So last week I posted a topic about focusing issues with my 70D and Tamron 70-200 2.8
I appreciate all of the advice given and I know what I have to do. Aside from technique issues one of the things I discovered was that I inadvertently adjusted my shutter speed down enough to cause blurring while shooting in about 25% of the shots(was shooting lacrosse).
Now for the yes I am dumb moment- shoulda looked in my settings in the viewfinder- duh- would have seen the shutter speed.
My second Aha moment was in looking at my camera settings. It turns out I can not only lock the back wheel but also the top wheel if I want. While this may be inefficient it may help me avoid some problems I have as I have a hand that doesn't work so well and sometimes goes where I don't want it

My hand always goes where I want it, just sometimes it shouldn't be going there!!

Seriously, sorry about the hand. Photography is definately a two good hand sport, and anything less will definately make it a bit tougher!
But glad you found the problem, we've all been there! ;-)

I have a tremor in both hands, which is why I shoot shutter priority, so as to control camera shake. I uaually keep track of f-stop. Don't worry about blur. If any one says he allways makes tack sharp photos he is a liar or blind or both. That's what delete is for.

Learning can sometimes be painful, slow and embarrassing - but we all go through it. It's part of the process and I do not think many shortcuts exist. Just my opinion. Thanks for openly sharing your experiences. Most of us relate to them. It took me a while to realize and learn the cause of my thousands of blurred images, especially with action sports, was simply making sure my shutter speed was not greater than 1/focal length. That was one of my longest "DUHS".

LOL

Heck, I've been shooting for 30 years and still have stuff like that happen from time to time. It's easy to get caught up in the moment and forget to look. Welcome to the club :)
