Welcome, Sundar!

Definitely a serene mood. With your title, I'm thinking that usually this is not the case here and that is what drew you to photograph at this moment?

Regarding composition: the curve of the land on the left is appealing to me, though I find myself wishing for a closer view for a bit more detail.

If this is your backyard, I'm more than jealous :)

Thank you for your inputs Linda! Much appreciated.
Wish I had a backyard like this :)

Sundar welcome to the section. It is your view and you know what’s there. For me the composition is unbalanced weighted to the left side with nothing of interest to the right. I would like to see all of the boat. I think the horizon line being in the middle is suppose to break some rule or conform to some rule I’m not sure as I don’t pay much mind to rules. It appears to be a bit overstated but if you like the look that’s what counts. Glad you are posting here, it is a wonderful place to learn.

Hi, Sundar, and welcome to FYC!
It 's a lovely, quiet scene, with good middle-ground and back-ground, and one that, for composition's sake , really needs some foreground detail...perhaps
"a place to stand" or better yet, some vegetation on the right that extends up above the horizon to pull the scene together.

I'll admit that the flats south of I-10 can be a landscaper's challenge, buy as you get to the bayous and the coast, the possibilities burgeon...and of course the Hill Country North of you is a photographer's wonderland, and the "Lost Pines" near Bastrop offer great possibilities as well.
If you get the idea that I miss some of my favorite areas in Texas, you're right.
Best regards, and please let us see more of your of your images.

Best regards,
Dave in SD

Thank you for your inputs !
Looks like the composition is the weak link here. Linda also pointed the same. I need to bear that in mind.
No doubt...I will continue to post here and bother you guys for your views/help.
