A typical street scene in Delhi, India.
It really is another world.
Great detail, Graham! I didn't think of Delhi as a Third World city. Do you mean at least half the streets of this major city are swamped in such disrepair and disregard, or is this just a sample of that section of the city? I'm sure there are sections of every large American city, as well as London, that would rival these conditions, but I wouldn't call them typical of those cities. One question: I don't see any women in your photo. Is that coincidence, or due to the social makeup of that section?

Thank you. Richard. There areas of Delhi which rival many other large cities worldwide, modern housing, grand government buildings and so forth. There are also large areas of narrow streets and alleyways as is the case in many of the old parts of Asian cities.
The lack of women is pure coincidence, although the multitude of shops and market stalls in the bazaars are manly run and staffed by men.
