This is an older file from a client shoot of a small powder room.
The clients obviously love their African art and it is throughout their home. Our remodel included 3 bathrooms, kitchen, living room, entry, laundry and 2 of four bedrooms.
This was from the first phase a few years ago. The angle was dictated by needing to avoid camera reflections. 2 lights were placed camera right. One on a shortened boom overhead to light the art and stone bowl, while the second was knee height to illuminate the carved vanity door fronts.
Sometimes you need to add lighting that isn't part of the design to show the design. Hopefully, it shows the textures in this tiny room.

I dislike shooting half-baths. Mirrors are always tough. One of the things that I try to do when I find one as interesting as you have here is to make a detailed image of the sink area with a longer lens and a flash on TTL. It woks pretty well for me and while the men don't care – the women seem to like it.

I agree with David. Powder rooms and other small baths are the most difficult to avoid self-portrait reflections, over lighting. Detail shots of just the fancy basin and up-scale faucets sometimes work best. This was a very good shot!
