Thanks... The master stone mason carved a series of faces around the perimeter of this building. The story is he fell in love with the daughter of the woman who owned the boarding house he stayed at. Unfortunately his love was unrequited. They say the first carvings show an attractive young woman and progress until the last ones portray a gargoyle. I plan a second trip to try to confirm this.
The faces are unique and very interesting to study.
