To me the original appeared a little "flat".
I just a quick (a couple of button presses) and dirty edit in Silver Efex Pro (a Google product) - "wet rocks" preset.

Good capture, and stuff like that you got to just catch on the moment but I agree with RichardTaylor the posted version could use a little pop. There are lots of free programs out there to help out depending on what operating system you are using.

Good capture! First thought: Who is going to give way? Using a back view of the protagonist entering/precipitating a situation is very effective.

your composition would definitely please Cartier-Bresson !

Richard's retouch with more contrast definitely helps.

Nice job!

Dave

I thought it needed something too, but I just could decide what, so I didn't do much more than adjust the color, convert in LR and adjust a few sliders. The few times I have done B&W, I usually use Silver Effect Pro.

Thanks, Bill

Thanks! Yes, this happened in a flash. I'm running win10 and I have more than enough programs. I just couldn't decide.

Thanks Dave. I only wish I had been able to get more of the sign.

Here's one I took a little more time on, with everyones suggestions in mind.

I think it's at least, better. I think I like the grain. Please share your thoughts on this version.

I agree with the other comments... I like this "decisive moment" -- the rule breaker seems to be a smoker as well. Also (maybe too small to read on a print) the parking meters say, "Curb Your Wheels".

Focus is on the back of the skateboarder. It would be better placed on the incoming man whose face we can see.
