Can you be more specific about exactly what is better, what specifically is better, and under what circumstances?
I always shoot in RAW because the RAW file contains all of the digital data while a JPEG is compressed which looses some of the data. When I shoot RAW the colors and general sharpness of the image is greater. Shooting RAW does have the drawback of having to process (change the file type - JPEG, etc) but you have more control over the final image. That is just my opinion of course. My camera allows me to save the RAW image and a JPEG image at the same time. If yours does this, try it and see if you think the trouble of processing each image is worth the time.
