To start things off, I thought I'd post some of my old shots to try to illustrate some of the architectural photography sub-genres.
This shows that even though there are people in view, it's really not "street" in that the focus is on the built environment rather than on the story told by the interaction of the people or their social context.

Without the people for context, the image could be an ink-media illustration. the people make it real.
It's a very nice slice of Chicago. Very visually pleasing and interesting. The one thing that really bothers me is that the feet of the people are cut off. I think that is important even in architectural photography. If you were trying to get published, I'm sure they would be picky about that.
