Trouble downloading CR pictures from CF card in CS6

Ever since I've been using Photoshop CS6, I've downloaded camera raw shots into Bridge. For those of you who do this, you know how easy it is to download your camera raw images using this method. Well.....all of a sudden two night ago, when I went to select the device to get photos from (usually EOS) om the upper box, there is no device to select from. Usually, you have to select EOS in the upper box and then in the lower box, select the file folder you wish to download the images to. Then, you would select "get media" and the download would began downloading the images to the selected folder. My problem is that the CS6 program no longer shows the EOS device to get the images from. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Your card may be bad.

See if the os sees the card. If not the card might be bad or the reader or the cable. If using a usb reader try another usb port or cable. If using a built in reader try using an external usb reader. Try another card

Thank you for your suggestions. I've now tried a new card with the same results. My computer has a built-in card reader that I've been using and it my be defective. I will buy an external card reader and see if that solves the problem.

Those internal card readers are very fragile. I've bent pins in mine before.

I suggest you reboot your computer and try again. See if you can read the card directly from Windows Explorer. If Explorer can't read the card, then the card reader is probably screwed up. (since you've already tried another card)

Good luck.

Thank you for your suggestion. I just got back from Best Buy where I bought a card reader that plugs into one of my USB ports and the download went fine. So, it looks like the internal, built in card reader that came with my computer has become defective. Looks like Dell and I will be having a discussion about the card reader that came with the computer.

Thanks to all for their response and advise.
