Canon 100mm Macro Lens With Adaptor

I am double posting this as I am not sure which forum.I have chance to buy a Canon 100mm macro fd with adapter, for a good price. My question is do they work good with adapter. I have read reviews on this subject with mixed results. The price is right and less than I have found the lens listed for. I seems to be almost in mint condition. He will let me try it on my camera before buying.

Adapting to what camera? Make sure that adapter is high quality, with electronic connectors to preserve auto-aperture and auto-focus.
Adapters may effect focus at infinity, but do not negatively effect macro work.
