A short cold weather walk through our downtown park, I noticed a group of young men waiting for the recently conditioned ice to set up. Hockey practice was about to start. A quick hand held shot of the patient group!

My problem with this shot is that you can't expect a viewer to understand what's going on if you were there and didn't know.

I think you are right, possibly more of a landscape/cityscape. But then again that's why it needed the explanation. Maybe being closer to the subjects would have helped?

WHEN "ice time" is limited, the effort necessary to disregard the clock in pursuit of your personally important ice-related sport is the basic story.

Thanks Rob, this type of shooting is my "fun stuff". Being a total Thomas Kinkade fan, anything that even remotely has that magic look, I make an attempt to capture it.
