The crash suggests a motherboard issue to me, rather than inadequacy of the on board graphics.

Make sure your video card can handle the resolution if you want 4K. It works well at lower resolutions too. I'm hoping it is card related and will find out next week when my new custom computer arrives. Its loaded.

Additionally CS6, Bridge and NX-D are not written to handle the full resolution although the images are not affected. PS CC is OK.

You will need to lower the resolution or use the magnifier to use these programs unless you have the eyes of an eagle..

I can't open View NX-I so don't know if its impacted but suspect it is. My problem with this program has nothing to do with the monitor. Its Win10 Pro related as it works on my Win10 Home machine.

Everything else that I use and websites work correctly.

I like the price, size, clarity of this monitor and the built in controls are easy.

Eyes like an eagle...not me, kind of why I'm trying to hold out for the NEC....I don't really need the 4k, and I run CS6 and CC. My monitors are almost 3ft from me when sitting back in my chair. The higher resolution I need for Cad detail drawings. Yet it might be the best of both worlds.

I have a couple of the Dell Ultra HD 4k in the 32 inch version. They are great. If you use them in the highest resolution the print is pretty small, but crisp.
You will be happy

Yeah which may be a small issue, (no pun intended). May have to go look at a 4k before pulling the trigger.

Doug,

I have 3, two in my office running Windows and one at home mated with Apple Thurderbolt on MacPro. I am not a big fan of Dell, had many issues with their laptops, but these monitors are superb IMO, great value!!

Best,

Mike

Dell monitors are among the top rated, when I had a couple of the old Dell CRT's, I had a power supply failure in one, took it to a local repair tec and he had a hard time replacing it, found out later the monitors are made by Sony and Dell has their own numbering system. But with persistence, he found it. Not sure if Sony still manufactures for Dell but would explain why they have a good rating.

How the heck can you tell a gaming card from a graphics card? The manufactures don't tell me that. I see thousands of cards out there and I can't make sense out of the glibly glop they tell about the card. I spent days and weeks looking at cards with no indication on what the cards can do. So, I finally went down to Best Buy, and the person there said they had two different cards there and recommended the one I purchased. The card works so I kept it. But I still don't know what I bought.
A couple of years ago, I saw a list of hundreds of cards and it told which ones were better than the others. But I guess that site is now long gone.

Simple, ya got to know what your looking for...can't just take a sales persons word for it, not that there is anything wrong with a gamers card, if that's what your into. Do you think someone interested in playing games would spend $4.000-$10.000 on a graphics card?

After researching the differences between a graphics card and a gaming card; I've come to the conclusion that there really isn't all that much difference between them. If I were to load one of the graphics cards you mentioned, I probably would see no difference in it from the one I have other than my image might would load a little faster.
