I like #1 until I see #2.

#1 is too green. Too much wide angle parallax.

#2 has much reduced parallax. Could use color and lighting attention. Put some HDR on it, to make it look like #1, without the trees and fence falling over. Back off on the green.

What a great part of American scenery. You have captured a great image.

What a great subject! I also like the warmth -- the evidence of the sun -- in the non-HDR version. It would be useful in this forum if the method was mentioned. Was this tonemapped or fused? Did you do any additional layering and blending after?

I cases like this, I like to use layering to blend in the best of the original shots with the fused version to bring back some of the warmth and color.

@MontanaTrace: Lens distortion and perspective distortion is always done after all other adjustments. That's why the #1 shot did not show the corrections.

These are both tonemapped using Photomatix Pro. I then used Lightroom to color correct and correct for the wide angle lens distortion. I shot with a wide angle lens because that's the look I was after. I didn't do any layering on these. I'm not very good at masking, especially when there are intricate details involved like tree branches.

I'm afraid I don't see green in either one of the HDR images. If anything, the first HDR might be a little magenta. At least that's the way it looks on my monitor.

Yes, it is just up the river from Havre De Grace at the intersection of Rock Run Rd and Stafford Rd. It is right along the river. https://www.google.com/maps/@39.6080806,-76.1426566,17.33z?hl=en

If you go up the river a little farther to the Conowingo Dam you can see bald eagles soaring and diving for fish in the dam spillway. It is an amazing opportunity to see bald eagles, golden eagles, black vulchers, and all kinds of other birds along the river hunting for food. It is amazing to watch. The state has provided an area right along the river where you can watch them from just a few feet away from the water. It is worth the trip. I understand that the eagles are starting to nest now so they aren't quite as plentiful but they are still there.

I go to Conowingo 4 or 5 times a year.Unfortunately I dont get the shots that a lot of other people get as I only have 300MM ... Though some days the eagles get right in your face. If you want to shoot vultures thats the place to go. I keep my boat in North East so Im down that way a lot.
Im going to take a day and explore that park a bit more
Thanks for the info

Personally, I don't think there is much wrong with he first shot. But I LOVE the second shot. The extra detail is beautiful and the whole thing is not over done, great work.
