For Your Consideration -

In keeping with the 'coffee shop' idea I've been working with a group of dedicated volunteers to add a Gallery Wall.

The Gallery Project will be a collection of the best FYC images picked on a monthly basis as voted on by you.

If you want to help, I'm asking for interested members to pick the best posted image to FYC in a given month.

At the end of the month the vote will be tallied and the top image posted to the gallery wall.

It's not meant to be a competition, more a localized place to view some of the quality work posted here.

Thank you, and if you have any questions, suggestions, or submissions, please feel free to PM me at any time.

Just 1 question. Is there any time consideration, as to when the image was made?

Only that's it's posted within the month it's considered. Good luck! S-

Like the idea Steve - that will be quite a few shots to consider, will you be collating them, or shortlisting in some way?

Yes how is this going to work? What do I do if I find a shot I think worthy of vote?

While my lawyers preclude me from giving away proprietary details I have been advised to say I will be taking part in the small group effort, or Yes! S-

I'll remind everyone again later in the month to PM their pick, then the vote will be tallied and I'll post the winner's choice soon after! S-

Look forward to participating in this - there is a Canon forum I tried for while that did similar things but the site was so difficult to use I gave up on them. If this works in a similar way to existing UHH competitions I reckon it'll be a success - good luck and thanks to all concerned for their effort.

You are not alone with regard to the Canon forum. I logged on twice and found it so difficult I just gave up an have never used it since.

A couple of questions, if I may, Steve. (I was going to ask my dumb questions by pm to save embarrassment to myself, but it occurred to me that others may benefit if I post them here.)

Is this a virtual gallery, or are you actually going to be hanging prints somewhere?

Does the clock start now and run forward for the month, or are we looking back on the previous month?

Thanks.

Mike

If you know me, you know I say there are no dumb questions except the one's you keep to yourself so fire away!

The Gallery Project is a virtual gallery, but I encourage everyone to print their images and hang them somewhere.

And, I'm going month-by-month for now, but will update everyone if things change.

It should be fun, and hopefully challenge everyone to step up their game and post their best! S-

For your consideration. Would you think about having a couple different categories? (Probably would be more work.) Might be a difficult decision to have only one winner a month, with so many different interests represented.
