Not sure. There were several formations along the lakefront in the area.

It is a fad that has gotten a little out of control. People are making stacks of rocks everywhere on the Great Lakes shores. Why? No one knows. Naturalists don't like it because it is doing damage to fragile shorelines and to the flora and fauna. Photographers don't like it because it is getting harder and harder to get photographs on the shore that don't include rock piles.
