Many thanks to all of you who have helped shape me into the photographer that I am today. Thank you all for the positive comments and encouragement. You have always been here when I needed answers and sometime my questions were pretty stupid. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart.http://issuu.com/niko794/docs/national_geographic_traveler_usa___/38

Congratulations on getting this amazing and really beautiful image published in National Geographic. I have always wondered how someone would submit an image to get it published and you proved it can be done. Well done.

Hi, they have to come to you. The writer saw some of my images on Facebook and that is how I was contacted. So seriously, for those of you who do not believe in social media, it is a huge help in getting your work out there.

Kalina, that's for letting me know this, I did wonder how they saw your photo. I guess I need to get busy posting my work too. Again, I really loved your image.

Seriously, the power of Facebook is amazing. I thought that it was spam when the editor contacted me.

You were a huge help years ago when I was photographing frogs in Costa Rica. You helped me with a ring flash and how to put Mylar in it. Honestly, this forum has been helpful in so very many ways. Thanks, btw I have some great frog shots that gained the attention of the Smithsonian.
Thanks to you.

That is a great photo. How many tries did it take to get just the right one? What changes did you make during the shoot?

I only shot about three from this angle. I did not change much other than a crop as National Geographic does not allow much post processing
