What do you mean? The CD won't come out of the drive?

The cd is in the slot at the side of the Mac and I am unable to find an eject facility

Go to the magnifying glass in the upper right corner. Click it and type disk utility in the window. When disk utility opens There will be a list of drives connected to the mac on the left side. The first will be the Mac hard drive. right under it should be a cd/dvd listed. It might say a name or it might say unknown. There will be an eject symbol to the right. Click on it and the cd should eject. If you are using a MacBook you do it the same way.

What kind of MAC are we talking about here? MBP MAC Mini, IMac what? What version of OS are you running?

In most go to spotlight and type Disk. That should bring up disk utility, you can eject from there. Or if you are showing mounted drives on desktop, R-click and eject the disk. Or in Finder, r-click the disk and eject it.

You may even have an eject on your keyboard depending on its layout. Is this an internal CD or an external one?

Usually there is a small hole that forces the mechanism to open.. Al least on PC, on mac? Anything is possible since this company has a tendency to rip their clients off.

 :XD:

In the event that a disk has become stuck in your Apple computer, there are several steps you can take to try to force it to eject.

1 Restart your computer, hold down the mouse button. ...
2 If your computer has an eject key on the keyboard, restart the computer again, this time holding the eject key.

Oh, source of my information: Google. Funny how doing a little research shows valuable results...

I have had fewer problems with my Mac's than I did with my windows PC's. Although all the windows problems were from hardware manufactured by the same companies that manufacture the Mac hardware. Go figure.

I have had this problem and solved it by inserting a straightened paper clip in a tiny hole on the outside of the CD player. This has worked for Windows machines!
Edit... looks like someone beat me to it!

Click on the link. Google
Source of info to solve the problem.

Reading the post in diagonal and taking content out of context never works.

For you at least.

How is a card reader going to help him get a stuck CD out of his drive?

How is a card reader going to help the OP get his CD out of the computer drive? And how will a card reader even accept a CD????? He did not say it was a CF of SD card.
