Camera Monitor Hood

Good morning. I finally began using the Live View mode in my two Canon cameras, the T6i and the 6D, with satisfying results for improved exposure.

But outdoors, the ambient light tends to solarize the monitor screen, so I cannot readily see the information or the scene presented.

I want to buy a monitor hood for my two cameras for shielding the monitor screen for improved viewing.

I will appreciate recommendations for camera monitor hoods.

I also welcome comments regarding this matter and the use of Live View mode.

Thanks you.

Take a look at Hoodman loupes. This may be what you're after.

I don't have experience with the Hoodman - but I do with the sunshades that look like collapsible awnings. My suggestion for those: don't waste your money, they don't do what they're supposed to do.
If the sun is in front of you, the screen makes a good mirror for your sun-lit face with those gadgets. Sun behind you, and it still manages to reach the screen.
The Hoodman Loupe is closed on four sides and doesn't seem to allow the sun to reach the screen, much better design!

I have one and am very happy with it. It extremely useful in bright daylight situations when it is virtually impossible to read the LCD screen. It is easily carried on a neck loop and the viewing glass is high quality therefore giving you a true reading of your screen. I would highly recommend this device.

I'm assuming the loupe does not attach to the camera, so the cameraman has to hold it in place while manipulating camera controls.

I carry a hoodman collapsible for viewing the LCD monitor in the sun, but don't care for the mount system. If I'm using Live View for shooting I use a Kamerar QV-1. They have a new version (VF-4) that has an Arca compatible base plate; wish they had that when I got mine.

The hood flips up to view the LCD normally, or down to view through a magnifying lens.

The Kamerar is not as portable, but is much better for movies.

I wear a Hoodman Hoodloupe around my neck, constantly checking exposure and focus. Without a Hoodloupe, viewing the LCD screen in full sunlight is nearly impossible.

I use hoodman products on both my cameras. I have the canon 60d and 6d I am very satisfied with the products. You can not go wrong.

Also Hygene is imposible unless you wear "soap on a rope"... but the "Hoodloupe on a rope" can be solve as discussed below:

Topic Titled, "LED Screen In Sunshine Problem" presents a solution to a, as Nikonian72 says "nearly impossible" problem

Careful of the phrases like Al Davis used "You can not go wrong." That is what my philosophy linguistics instructor would call a discussion squelch trap. Certainly we can go wrong... I measured my first hood purchase across rather than diagonal.
