Canon sx60 vs sx50...again!

I have a Canon SX 60 that I took with me on safari in Zimbabwe last month and I loved using it to take photos of birds and animals from a distance. But, I've read so many positive comments about the Canon sx50 that I'm thinking of buying one now that it's on sale for $150 refurbished from Canon. Is it really so much better than the SX 60? I used Picasa to edit my favorite 900 plus photos and I'm in the process of making a photo book with Shutterfly. I really enjoy photography but I'm not a camera "techie."

You might just want to buy it and try it for yourself. I have always felt I had to see for myself in instances like this.

That's a great price for a SX50 but since you already have the SX60, why do you need both? Except for the longer reach of the SX60, their both pretty much the same.

I have no intent of staring an argument, or throwing a monkey wrench into this topic, but I've owned both cameras as well as a Nikon Coolpix P600. I had read an article for which someone had posted the link at UHH (and I've since misplaced it or I would have included it here) that compared a Canon, Nikon, and Sony. The P600 outperformed the other two in sharpness and color range, and I ended up buying my first Nikon camera. I have since upgraded to the P900, but still shot Canon DSLR's.

Is this the article you were thinking of?
