UHH Help for photo editing

Time for me to learn Lightroom. I have been attempting to edit this photo of my wife's father who passed away this morning to use in the slide show at the funeral. Would any fellow Hogs be able to help to remove the hair on the left side of the photo? Should be a simple process, but I have not done much post processing and iPhoto would not cut it and Lightroom is definitely a learning curve.

If you upload this to the Post Processing Digital Images Forum, I'm sure there are a number of people who can help you out. As you did here, please check {store original} when you upload it.

Looks great. Sad, but this was the best printed picture we scanned to use at the service.
