Hello all, I am seeing that this is not a new topic for discussion but every time I put on my laptop it wants me to upgrade to Windows 10? I am sorry that I have not read the previous posts (bedtime) but I am hesitant to do this.
Any comments and/or suggestions welcome. Will read other posts tomorrow.
Thanks.

I put windows 10 on my Dell laptop (it has fascial recognition software on it) and thinks did not go well at all. Window 10 installed and ran, but when I did a re-boot I can not get to the start-up screen. The screen it stops at is the recognition screen and the screen just flickers there and I can't get in. Working with MS now to fix this issue.

There are a LOT of threads here about issues with Win10 upgrades.
Personally, I am going to wait a few months to see how this all shakes out.
My Win7 is running all of my stuff just fine!

I updated a Surface 3 Pro without any problems and then waited a week until my MSI GS70 finally got picked for update. 1ST upgrade attempt failed and immediately went to a 2ND attempt which went great. I'm having no problems with either machine. Each were either Win8 or 8.1

One fix is to roll back to your previous version of window. Using either F8 or Shift key - @ bottom will bring up a screen with two options: advance ... and re=start. Select advance and the roll back.

well in regards to windows 10,i have not installed it yet,and probably won't. i have an online game site,it is pogo, and alot of the games are flash based and the others are java based. the new windows 10 does not support java,do to the new browser.
the other problem i have been told is that some printers won't work well with it,and also some software installed on your puter can be affected also. i have talked with alot of people and most have some kind of problem,or problems. i may install it sometime in the future, still not sure, but we have a year and then we will have many new updates to do to make windows 10 a better world. i am always leary about to windows operating systems when they come out, they always need some,or alot of tweaking.....just my 2 cents....hope it helps a bit.

I've been hearing some people say that sometimes Win 10 will install automatically. I decided to be prepared. Yesterday I ran Malwarebytes, Norton Protection services; Disk Optimizer, Tune Up, and AV. Today I'm going to clone my cleaned up C drive with Acronis. If anything happens, I'll can clone back my original C drive to the internal HD.

I'm a software developer with almost 50 years in the IT business. Decided to upgrade one of my machines to Windows 10 ... spent the last 3 days having it try to install multiple times, failing each time after 45 minutes or an hour with an unintelligible hexadecimal error code that I can't find on Micro$oft's web site. I've heard great reports from others here at work re: Windows 10 and would really like to try it ... but will probably download the .iso image, burn a CD/DVD and go that route.
