Water lily No. 4b

This is the same bloom as No. 4, the only difference being it was shot at 1/10 sec faster shutter. I believe that took care of the blown-out white areas. I hope the debris on the water surface has also been taken care of. In other words, I hope there are no more PP issues with this image.

You need no more tips or tricks my friend, you are on your own. Well done!

This one is much better than its predecessors, Neil. You went back and fetched the detail! Shooting flowers in bright sun is a tricky business, but sometimes we have to do it or skip the shot. Everything in life can't happen in the golden hour.

Do you use a polarizer? Sometimes that helps me with the reflectivity off the waxy white parts. But I lose polarizers so regularly. Knocked one off somehow in the Saskatchewan river last week.

Thank you. I tried the polarizer, but it cut out too much light. I had to shoot early in the morning before the wind came up, so the sun was quite low. One of the disadvantages of a small sensor.

I sympathize with the smaller sensor issue. We have to work pretty diligently to maximize our files. Sometimes we have to make devil's bargains don't we?

On the bright side I can go from 24mm to 1000mm without changing a lens :)
