Shark Valley park off SW 8 St about 35mi west of Miami is a sure thing for great gator pix and lots of herons and other birds. The wildlife density is greater than any other location I've visited in the area. Green Cay and Wakotahatchee are also pretty good.

Actually, we'd just give the horrid jerks to anyone willing to take them on. We'd like to keep our collection of jailed governors however. Sort of like a freak show for Friday evening entertainment.

For what it is worth, I was told a gator can run 30 MPH in a
straight line something like 50 yards. I was warned to leave a six footer alone at a golf course and take a free non-penality drope away from the gator. I was also told if I am chased by one, to run in a zig zag fashion, though they can out run a human in short a distances, they can't zig zag. I was also informed a golf ball looks like a gators egg, and in many of the nests, golf balls have been found. A mother gator just might think you are hitting one of her eggs.
