I have purchased brand new 5Diii Sept. 2012. I wasn't able to determine the shutter count or know a way to do it. After searching web, I found out that 5Diii doesn't include shutter count in its EXIF and thus wasn't able to determine it by sending an image to the online shutter count sites. There apparently is a program that may do it but my Mac wouldn't let me install it because it's from an "unrecognized source".

If you wish, I can post a photo of it this afternoon after I come back from racquetball where I am heading now.

If you got this software from a reliable source that others use, go into the Security Preferences in the Mac (under System Preferences) and change the setting. Look for an area that has something like "Allow applications to be downloaded from..." you may have to click on the lock to change the setting.

I typically change it, install the software, and change it back. The lock it. This will force me to change it each time..,

The only reliable shutter count for a Canon DSLR is to ship it to Canon and pay $30 to have them run their program for accurate shutter count.

There are and have been many on this site who propose various web sites who read shutter counts from an uploaded image file.

They are not reliable and often drop their attempts to do Canon. Canon has made that process (shutter count) very proprietary.

I purchased a Canon for resale, which one of the web sites showed 34K, and sent it to Canon for a sensor cleaning (since it was for resale, did not want to chance it myself). I asked them to run a shutter count. It came back with a shutter count reading of 89K. Made my money back, but have not purchased any Canons for resale without a trip to Canon for the shutter count.

As per message trail below from Kuzano, there isn't a reliable way to get Canon shutter count short of sending it to Canon. Are you still interested in seeing a photo of this camera?
