This is a Tussock Moth caterpillar. You can look-up the caterpillar's colors (and your area) to identify which Tussock Moth variety.

Hairy caterpillars are hard to shot, due to the extreme DOF needed to carry all of the long hairs towards the camera, and away from the camera.
