Saturday's Farmers Market

The Farmers Market in Coppell Texas. After helping my wife get set up to sell pecans, (grown on the family farm in Greenville) I did a quick walk-around. I tried to concentrate on locally grown stuff. Just a small sampling of the available produce, baked goods and products. My wife also sells Brownies, Banana bread and other baked goods made with her pecans and always sells out early!

Thanks, I think my next project will be to take some shots of my wife putting together the baked goods she sells.... Always a chance a pecan brownie may come out lopsided or a tad overdone. (I'm keeping some vanilla ice cream stashed just in case....)
:) :)

Thanks - getting good produce around here this time of year is pretty easy... I live in a older suburban neighborhood (think Levittown) but have enough room for several raised beds in the back yard. when I DO plant squash or melons they produce at such a prodigious rate that we reach a point where we can't give it away... :) Kind of like a Garrison Keillor story on 'Prairie Home Companion' I mean, after all.... how much Zucchini bread can one man take!

I love Farmer's markets, and I didn't know Texas grew olives for olive oil. Love the eggplant photo the best because of the colors.

Thanks for the kind words..... I'm thinking eggplant lasagna..... Yes, their are oil wells and cattle in Texas but having lived here all my life I can tell you from 1st hand experience that it's so much more.... Please just try to ignore our politics.... (kind of like the man behind the curtain in 'The Wizard of Oz')
:) :)
