Duplicates and computer hangups

A point regarding recent problems with computer hangups and duplicate threads being posted. I've been doing my own troubleshooting on this issue and discovered it may be tied to your web browser of choice. I had been using firefox but switched to Google Chrome and have not had a problem since. I use an iMac as my computer.
