I went to a trade show in OK City, and got to play with one for several minutes, on my 7D. I would have loved to leave with it, but just couldn't afford it.

Thank you everyone for your responses and directing me to the reviews. The widest lens I have is the 18-135 and it is simply not wide enough for what I want my 7dmkii to see. The 11-24 is so appealing BuT OH THE COST. My plan for this year is to get the new 5dmkiv when it comes out. I'm thinking that may be the better plan with the 16-35 for dollar value and wide angle photography and that would give me the 7Dmkii for the rest.

Thank you for your suggestion, however I fully intend to purchase a FF camera in the next year and want to make sure any lens I purchase can be used on both the FF and the 7dmkii.

Sounded like you need and would like a wider lens...and the 7dMII is a super crop camera.... if you bought the ef-s lens.....then sold it down the road it would still have a lot of value for resale....you could also buy a used 10-22 ... and re-sell when you move up to full frame. I have this wide angle....and it is a very good lens....and does the job with a crop sensor even at 16mm equivalent on the crop.
Just a thought....

And a good thought...thank you very much. This way I can take advantage of the season because more than likely the new 5div won't even be shipped until late in the fall like the 7dmkii was. I am not experienced in selling equipment and didn't think of this. Which camera do you use?

I just bought a 70d and still have a T1i ...
have been buying some good lenses since the T1i .. which
was the first Rebel to really add some super features back when it came out. May get full frame down the road....but the crop sensors and the processors like you have in the 7dMII and the 70d have improved a lot... so the good glass will always be goodeven if it is high quality ef-s product.....

I purchased two T3i's for my grandsons when they came out. They've used them for several years now and take great photos. Many members here use both of your cameras. Thank you for the time to help me out here. Lenses are still a mystery to me. It helps to have first hand recommendations.
