Do you guys even read the previous posts before replying?

Best is to know YOUR particular gear and how it works. Most of us DON'T have so many lenses that we can't learn our gear!

If you have 50 lenses, I suggest you go out to the backyard and bury 40 of them in a shallow grave!
I say shallow, because that way if you get BAD post-mortem lens GAS, you can easily dig one back up!!!

I have read it awhile back. Basically gets a little muddled and then refers to check the camera manual. That's all well and good but the lens and camera manuals use different acronyms that I am not really sure what they mean to each other. Such as the lens manual states if you camera supports HSM with radio waves. Nikon manual don't specifically state about lens radio waves. So I'll just do what I've been doing AF and AF, M and M. Just thought I would ask in the event that someone has a similar type equipment or experience. I'm probably over complicating a simple solution or explanation anyway.

I have the Sigma 50-500mm f4-f6.3 APO DG HSM-D with Nikon mount, that I'm no longer use because of broken motor. It doesn't have that AF/MF selector switch. I remember that I can use the focus ring to manual focus while my camera was set to AF mode. It did work fine.
