Advise in wide primes for a DX camera

Looking for a wide prime for my D7000, preferably a 12mm. It would be equivalent to an 18 on a full frame camera. Don't really want to go any longer than that and I'm not interested in wide zooms, too much trade off in speed.

Your suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

In case you don't find a suitable prime lens, perhaps you would consider a zoom that is also fast. My Tokina 11-16 really works well. Very happy with it.

I agree with Eurolux, I have the Tokina 11-16 f2.8 and it is amazing and sharp. I am not aware of anything better for wide in a DX format in a prime lens.

Wow, I took a look out of curiosity and because eventually I will probably want one or more wider Wide Angle lenses than I have now. I'm shocked, I found no 12mm prime for Nikon, none including Simga, Tamron, Tokina, or Nikon. But many zoom lenses covering that range. I was also kind of looking for my self for my Pentax DSLRs. Same if not worse result. The closest lens I found, not a fisheye prime for Pentax are a couple actual Pentax 15mm prime lenses. That is not astronomically wide for a APS-C or DX camera. I was hoping to find a 11mm, 12mm, 13mm, 14mm for myself as well. I have a vintage Vivitar Pentax KA mount "film" 19mm prime lens. Again only wide, not super wide on a Crop Factor body. I'll be OK if and when Pentax puts out a Full Frame format body, but I'm a bit disappointed for my current needs. So any ideas out there for 10mm to 14mm primes for Nikon or Pentax? We may just have to go with zooms.

Imagemester gave you the answer: 12mm Samyang - Manual focus should be no problem with a super wide lens if you know how to use it and hyper focal distance.
